From CAD-to-Mesh with Fluent Meshing: Part 3
Fluent Meshing has been going through some quite dramatic usability improvements during the last 2-3 years and as we continue to move in this direction, we also add and improve core capabilities. In these videos below we take you to a journey from extracting a few parts from a CAD assembly model to the volume meshing steps, all with tree and graphics driven operations within Fluent Meshing. Finally in the third video we look at how we can manage the volumetric regions, these are the connected regions, ready for volume meshing. We use operations like; identify and merge overlapping domains, change the region type to solid or fluid, etc. The final volume meshing setup and execution steps are very easy. Boundary layers are automatically grown on all Fluid walls and to use the new native polyhedral mesh generation, only the growth rate needs to be set. The resulting mesh is, as often, of adequate quality without further post operations needed. Of course we do not cover all the new functionalities of Fluent Meshing in a few videos. The purpose here is to show some typical workflows, the possibilities to combine various capabilities and how to manage the topology of the model in a very flexible manner.
